Job Description

Smiths Detection is seeking a Contracts Administrator to support in its Americas in-house legal and contracts department in Edgewood, Maryland. The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, and a collaborative/team setting.

Duties & Responsibilities

SPECIFIC DUTIES, ACTIVITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Work with commercial and government contract managers to draft, negotiate, and update contractual documents such as NDAs, Product Loan Agreements, teaming agreements, MOUs, flow-downs, and other standard contractual documents.
  • Support contracts due diligence requests as needed including conducting Exiger screenings
  • Assist in the development, population, and maintenance of a Contract Management System (CMS)
  • Assist with processing contract, legal, and compliance documents as needed, including certificates of insurance, small business plans, reps & certs, and non-complex responses to external customers
  • Prepare contract briefs to ensure proper interpretation of the contract • Perform Contract Close-outs
  • Assist in the development, maintenance and monitoring of department reports, key performance indicators, forms and templates
  • Create and maintain Standard Operating Procedures for daily job processes and procedures
  • Create and manage purchase orders and requisitions for the department
  • Assist in the preparation, creation, copying, or compiling of departmental documents Support Legal & Contracts Team with other duties as assigned

The Individual

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Education/Training:

High School Diploma or GED Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a corporate, or office environment

Knowledge/Skills:

Ability to present a professional level of customer service to include excellent interpersonal approach in oral and written communication skills Must be self-motivated with the ability to multi-task and exercise independent judgment to make decisions during times of ambiguity Patience, attention to detail, and the ability to identify anomalies. Strong skills in the use of office technology, computer software (MS Word, Excel, Outlook) and databases (e.g. SAP, SharePoint).

TERM: Full-time exempt position with minimum of 40 hours per week

Background:

This position requires access to ITAR, EAR, and Department of State or Department of Commerce controlled information and routine access to a cleared facility.
